Why You Should Stop Using Coconut Oil On Your Face
Seems like coconut oil is being used for everything!
According to Dr. Josh Axe, it be can be applied to the skin on the body to with help soothe skin conditions like eczema, and eaten to help with brain function and weight loss. However, when it comes to using coconut oil on your face, you must consider its “Comedogenic Rating”. A comedogenic rating is the ability of an oil to clog pores and cause acne. The ratings are from 0 (not likely to cause acne) to 5 (highly likely to cause acne). Coconut oil has a rating of 4, which means that it has a high probability of causing acne.
There are alternatives that have a 0 Comedogenic Value…
- Hemp Oil (Cold Pressed Unrefined Organic)
- Argan Oil (Cold Pressed Unrefined Organic)
- Shea Butter or Oil (Raw, Refined)
Remember coconut oil does not cause everyone to have acne, but it does not hurt to try other oils also and compare the difference.
